ORGANISATION LOGISTICS DIRECTOR
- Develop logistics strategies: Create and implement strategic plans to streamline and improve the logistics and supply chain operations.
- Optimization: Continuously assess and improve supply chain efficiency to reduce costs, enhance speed, and ensure reliability.
- Forecasting and demand planning: Work closely with sales and production teams to forecast demand and plan the necessary logistics to meet that demand.
- Transportation planning: Plan and optimize transportation routes and methods to minimize costs while meeting delivery deadlines.
- Third-party logistics (3PL) coordination: Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers to ensure efficient distribution.
- Fleet management: Oversee company-owned or leased vehicles, ensuring they are maintained, cost-effective, and compliant with regulations.
- Manage logistics teams: Oversee a team of logistics managers, supervisors, and staff, ensuring smooth operations at every level.
- Recruitment and training: Recruit, train, and develop logistics personnel to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to succeed.
- Performance management: Set goals and KPIs for the logistics team, monitor progress, and provide coaching or performance feedback as needed.
- Regulatory compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, such as transportation laws, safety standards, and environmental requirements.
- Risk assessment: Identify potential risks within the logistics and supply chain processes (e.g., delays, damages, or disruptions) and develop contingency plans.
- Safety protocols: Ensure that safety measures are in place to protect personnel, goods, and equipment during the logistics process.
- Technology adoption: Leverage logistics software, management systems (e.g., TMS, WMS), and technology to automate and improve logistics operations.
- Data analysis: Use data analytics to monitor supply chain performance and make data-driven decisions for continuous improvement.
